In Vancouver

So here we are....

After a ten-hour flight, sharing a row of seats with an elderly lady with a tuberculor cough, who passed the time by spitting phlegm into a plastic bag (that's what you get when you fly with budget airlines), we made it to Vancouver.

Yesterday we weren't too taken with Vancouver. It drizzled all day and we spent the day trawling downtown coffee bars in an attempt to ward off the jet-lag. Our body clocks are still totally messed up, meaning that we have woken up at 6am and been in bed by nine for the last two days.

Today, however the sun came out and it is like we're in a different city. We headed to the Anthropology museum in the morning, then to a part of town called Granville Island where we found a brewery, and spent the sunny afternoon sat inside a pub, drinking beer.

Our other favourite thing about Vancouver so far is the food. Everything comes in massive portions and is really cheap. So far we have eaten Chinese, sushi and pizza. Lovely traditional Canadian fare!
Off to Banff tomorrow for some trekking in the Rockies (I can feel a blister coming on already....)

"we have woken up at 6am and been in bed by nine for the last two days." - wow, that's a change! Sounds like one of my normal days ... I would have stood no chance at one of your parties!
